A Channel 4 TV production company is currently researching a TV documentary on Anglo Thai couples living in the UK. The programme's producers are setting out to make a sensitive series challenging the old stereotypes about finding love overseas.
They are particularly interested in hearing from British men in their 20's and 30's who have found love in Thailand or who are thinking about visiting Thailand to find the woman of their dreams. The programme is interested in hearing from any British man who has had a relationship with a Thai woman whatever the story. The programme is also interested in hearing from Thai women who have fallen in love with a UK man or who are living in the United Kingdom in addition to any UK woman who has had a relationship with a Thai man or who has considered this.

Why you should take part
In the last three or four years there has been a huge upsurge in the numbers of men from the United Kingdom marrying Thai women. One Bangkok marriage registration office reported that UK nationals registering marriages with Thai women were three times that of any other nationality, the next in line being the USA.
ThaiLoveLines has always promoted an open examination of the growth in Thai dating worldwide in order to counter stereotypes that belong to another era or generation.
We would encourage any member or user who has a story to tell to contact the producers so that the story that emerges is as accurate and compelling as possible. One of the things that Thai women living in the UK do report is a sense of isolation and discrimination based largely on old stereotypes. This is an opportunity to correct this.
We are not asking for a one sided response and indeed your story may be a negative one but if your story is positive, please think about the impact it may have on other contemplating finding love in Thailand or marriage to a Thai woman.
Our research has shown that the average age of men seeking marriage with Thai women is declining as younger men from countries like the United Kingdom, United States or Australia are increasingly interested in marrying or finding a loving relationship with a Thai woman.
The ThaiLoveLines News Centre has grown and is an increasingly popular feature on Thailand's Largest Dating site covering this issue and brings issues to the attention of our users whether the news is good or bad.
We are aware of challenges facing interracial Thai relationships and even bad news stories which we are not afraid to highlight. However, we feel that the true story is a positive one if all the facts are examined, that is why we created this service. Perhaps the single biggest challenge facing those seeking love or a relationship in Thailand is negative stereotyping. This is why we are asking all our users particularly UK men or Thai women married to UK men to come forward with the real story.
We have seen an increase in negative and often amateur reporting in recent months particularly on social media. We believe that this is in reaction to the growth in the numbers of interracial marriages and relationships between Thai women and foreign men. This trend has now reached such a level where there are significant and growing communities around the world and it has been examined by governments in some countries often at the behest of those opposed to it.
In one such case in Finland, the government has concluded that the overwhelming proportion of such relationships are genuine and loving but has introduced measures to protect vulnerable Thai women.
